Teen Thief Busted After Portsmouth Taxi Theft Spree
Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy suspected of a string of vehicle thefts across Portsmouth and nearby areas. The crafty crook stands accused of targeting taxis and other vehicles in a spree that sparked 40 reports to officers.
Taxi Drivers Targeted
Many of the stolen vehicles were taxis, hit repeatedly in the wave of crime. The incidents included thefts from vehicles as well as criminal damage, leaving drivers on edge.
15-Year-Old in Custody
The teenager was apprehended this afternoon in connection with the thefts. Police continue their investigations but say this arrest marks a significant breakthrough in stopping the vehicle crime rampage.
