Search for Missing Teen Ends in Heartbreak

A multi-agency hunt was launched late Sunday night after reports of a person entering the River Wear near Toronto Bridge, Bishop Auckland. The search teams worked through the night, but this morning, their worst fears were confirmed.

13-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in River

The body of a teenage boy was recovered from the river. Although formal ID is pending, authorities believe it to be a 13-year-old local lad. His family has been informed, and the community is reeling from the devastating news.

Not Treated as Suspicious

Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner as investigations continue.
