Teen Drug Scare Hits Portsmouth Teens After Diazepam Tablets Shared at Park

Police are launching an investigation after several Portsmouth teenagers, aged 13 to 15, were rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham following the consumption of tablets believed to be diazepam. The drugs were reportedly shared at Kingston Recreation Ground on the evening of Wednesday, 21 June.

Multiple Teens Hospitalised But No Serious Illness

Some of the teens remain in hospital receiving treatment, while others have been discharged and are recovering at home. Authorities say no serious illnesses have been reported so far.

Police Crack Down to Stop Further Tablet Sharing

Portsmouth Neighbourhoods Policing Sergeant Iain Clancy urged caution: “As always, we urge people not to risk their health by taking unknown tablets or substances.”

Sergeant Clancy added: “My team is working closely with local schools to warn young people and is actively identifying those involved or in possession of the tablets.”
