Where’s Richard? Barnsley Dad Vanishes in Hoyland Mystery
Richard Dyson, 56, from Barnsley, was last spotted walking along Sheffield Road in Hoyland on 17 November last year. Since then, his family has been plunged into a year-long nightmare, desperate for answers.
Daughter Pleads for Help: “Please Get in Touch”
His daughter, 20-year-old Bethany Dainty, described the past 12 months as the toughest of her life. “Waking up every day not knowing what has happened to dad is like a bad dream I can’t escape,” she said. Bethany last saw her dad on 15 November when he dropped her off in Aston, Rotherham.
He was reported missing 10 days later. “I ask you directly, from the bottom of my heart, please get in touch and tell somebody what you know,” she added. “I don’t deserve to live like this — I just need some answers.”
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
South Yorkshire Police confirmed the investigation remains active. Detective Inspector Neil Coop said Mr Dyson was known to frequent Elsecar and Hoyland. Officers are keen to trace his movements before he vanished.
“It doesn’t matter how minor you think your contribution may be, we really want to hear from you,” said Det Insp Coop.
If you have any information, contact South Yorkshire Police immediately. Someone out there knows what happened to Richard — the family just wants the truth.
