Terrifying Car Chase and Theft Attempt in Otford
On Wednesday 24 March 2021, around 7.40pm, two victims were followed by a suspicious silver VW Golf as they drove through Eynsford towards Otford. The suspects drove aggressively, flashing their headlights repeatedly along the A225.
Suspects Stop Victims and Make Threats
The pursuers forced the victims to stop near Hillydeal Road in Otford after performing a dangerous overtake and emergency stop. Two men jumped out and tried to steal the car keys from the ignition. One carried a weapon, described as a screwdriver or chisel, and threatened the female passenger.
Victims Escape Unharmed; Police Seek Witnesses
PC Alex Peacock, Chief Constable’s Crime Squad, said: “Both victims thankfully managed to drive away unharmed. The suspects fled the scene in their silver VW Golf with a registration starting CP56. They are unknown to the victims, and we are investigating their motive. We urge anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.”
