Three Arrested After Violent Clash With Police in Harrow
Police on patrol in Harrow had no idea they’d walk into trouble on Belmont Circle at 8.30 p.m. last Sunday (March 5). When officers approached a car with four inside, things quickly turned violent.
Assault on Officers Leaves Three Injured
Three of the four occupants refused to cooperate and launched an assault on the officers, police say. The scuffle left three officers hurt. Two were rushed to hospital but have since been released.
Suspects in Custody After Police Reinforcements Arrive
Three men, aged 29, 33, and 35, were arrested at the scene and remain in police custody. Extra officers were deployed swiftly, helping secure the suspects.
Scene Sealed Off, Delivery Drivers Watch From the Sidelines
Footage shows the area taped off with a large police presence. Multiple response vehicles and a van crowded the spot as delivery drivers gathered behind the cordon.
“It is completely unacceptable that officers conducting legitimate and reasonable inquiries were assaulted in this manner,” said Inspector Greg Wilkinson of the Met’s North West BCU. “An additional officer was quickly deployed, allowing the three suspects to be apprehended.”
