Diesel Thieves Target Lorries on A2

Kent Police have launched an investigation after three diesel thefts hit lorries parked in laybys along the A2 between Sunday 9 and Tuesday 11 January 2022.

Fuel Stolen Near Barham and Harbledown

The first two incidents happened near Barham, with the third reported near Harbledown. Drivers woke up to find their fuel tanks drained in the dead of night.

Suspects Caught in Canterbury Raid

On Wednesday 12 January, shortly after 1.30am, officers from the East Kent Criminal Investigation Department stopped a suspicious vehicle on New Dover Road, Canterbury.

Three men, aged 24, 29, and 40, were arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped. Police seized a number of tools believed to be used in the crimes. All three have now been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
