Teen and Two Men Nabbed in Catalytic Converter Theft Chase
Kent Police sprang into action at 9.40pm on Monday 29 March 2021 after receiving reports of a catalytic converter theft in Kings Drive. Two men were spotted stealing the part before jumping into a car driven by a third man and speeding off.
High-Speed Police Pursuit Ends in Arrest
Officers in an unmarked patrol spotted the suspects racing along the A2 towards Valley Drive. When the driver refused to stop, police authorised a pursuit. A stinger was deployed on Wrotham Road, bringing the getaway car to a halt and leading to the suspects’ arrest.
Evidence Seized as Police Hunt for More Leads
- A catalytic converter was found in the boot of the stopped vehicle.
- A 15-year-old boy faces charges of dangerous driving and failure to stop for police.
- The two men, aged 24 and 20, have been arrested over the theft but later released on police bail.
