Travel Chaos Warning: Torrential Rain to Slam Roads and Rails

Motorists, prepare for longer travel times as flooding and spray make driving hazardous. The Met Office predicts:

  • 20 to 40mm of rain will fall widely across the area
  • Up to 50 to 60mm expected over higher ground

“A band of rain will move across the area during the afternoon,” the Met Office said. “Twenty to 40mm of rain is likely to fall widely here with as much as 50 to 60mm over higher ground.”
