Two Teenagers Found Dead at Bridlington Holiday Park in Suspected Carbon Monoxide Tragedy

Heartbreak hit Bridlington this half-term when two local teens were found lifeless in a rental property at Little Eden Holiday Park. Ethan Slater, 17, and Cherish Bean, 15, believed to be a couple, were discovered dead on Wednesday. A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and remains in custody.

Police Probe Possible Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Emergency services rushed to the holiday park after concerns were raised about the teens’ welfare. The grim discovery led police to launch a full-scale investigation. Authorities suspect carbon monoxide poisoning may be to blame.

Humberside Police are teaming up with Humberside Fire & Rescue, the Health and Safety Executive, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to get to the bottom of the tragedy.

Chief Superintendent Matt Peach said: “This is an incredibly distressing and heartbreaking incident. Our specially trained officers are supporting the families during this devastating time. We urge everyone to respect their privacy and avoid speculation while the investigation continues.”

Heartbreaking Tributes Pour In for Ethan and Cherish

Friends and family have flooded social media with touching messages mourning the young couple’s loss.

“It is with unimaginable heartbreak that I write this. Our son Ethan tragically and unexpectedly passed away at just 17 years old, alongside his beautiful girlfriend. No parent should ever have to write these words. Ethan had his whole life ahead of him. He’ll never get to pass his driving test or celebrate his 18th birthday. His future was taken far too soon.”

Tributes to Cherish spoke of her as “my girl, my world, my love, my everything,” capturing the deep sorrow felt by those closest to her.

“Never in my life did I think I’d be writing this, but Ethan Slater and Cherish Bean left this world together, leaving many hearts broken. Cherish had big dreams and a bright future ahead.”

Ongoing Investigation and Community Safety Measures

A police cordon remains in place at Little Eden Holiday Park as officers continue complex enquiries. Chief Superintendent Peach confirmed that all nearby properties have been checked for safety and praised the increased police presence to reassure the local community.

He promised: “We will provide further updates as soon as possible as the investigation progresses.”

The Health and Safety Executive confirmed it is assisting with the investigation to uncover the full circumstances behind this tragic loss.
