Nightclub Inferno in Istanbul Claims at Least 32 Lives During Renovation
A deadly fire ripped through a nightclub in Istanbul’s Gayrettepe district on Tuesday, killing at least 32 people. The blaze broke out during daytime repair work in a 16-story building on Gonenoglu Street, one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares.
Blaze Strikes Amid Renovations
The fire erupted while renovation work was underway inside the club. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül confirmed the cause remains unknown but revealed most victims were involved in the repair efforts.
Arrests Made as Investigation Continues
Authorities have arrested several people related to the fire, including the nightclub’s manager and the renovation team leader. Police are continuing their investigation to determine exactly what sparked the tragedy.
