Tragic Early Morning Clash at Manchester Traffic Lights
Just before 1:40am on Tuesday, January 23, a violent altercation at a busy Manchester junction turned deadly. A 30-year-old man was fatally attacked at the traffic lights where A34 Kingsway meets Parrs Wood Lane in East Didsbury.
Road Rage Fight Ends in Death
Two men, each driving separate vehicles, got into a heated dispute at the stoplights. The victim suffered brutal physical assault. Despite emergency services rushing him to hospital, he died from his injuries soon after.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have informed the victim’s family, who are now receiving specialist support during their heartbreak.
Suspect Held as Police Probe Disturbing Case
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody and is being questioned.
GMP reveal both males were driving along Kingsway before the clash. When they stopped at the lights, tempers flared, sparking the deadly confrontation.
Forensics focus on a silver Mercedes with damage to its passenger-side window, believed to be linked to the incident.
Investigation Ongoing, Road Closures Cause Travel Chaos
Significant road closures on Kingsway in both directions remain in place, expected to cause delays for hours as police continue their inquiries.
