Tragedy in Thamesmead: Five-Year-Old Daniel Found Dead in River Thames
A tight-knit community in south-east London is reeling after five-year-old Daniel Alaby was discovered dead in the River Thames. The young boy had gone missing from his home in Thamesmead, sparking a desperate search across the area.
Frantic Search Ends in Heartbreak
Police launched an urgent appeal on Friday to locate Daniel, with officers and locals joining the hunt. The hopeful search turned tragic when officers found a child in the river at around 6:23 pm. Paramedics and police rushed to perform CPR on the boy at the scene, but sadly Daniel was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
“Despite the valiant efforts of emergency responders, Daniel could not be saved,” confirmed officers at the scene.
Ongoing Investigation Despite No Suspicious Circumstances
The Metropolitan Police have stressed that no other individuals are currently suspected in Daniel’s death.
