Brazen Trio Smash Door to HSBC Bank in Hedge End Ram Raid
Three masked raiders rammed a car into HSBC Bank in Hedge End, Southampton before making off with cash this morning. Police sealed off the scene, as officers stood guard outside the damaged branch on Cedar Close.
Ram Raid Caught on Camera
Witnesses at a nearby furniture shop on Lower Northam Road reported seeing a dark grey Vauxhall Astra smash into the bank just after 10:30am. The three men jumped out, stormed inside the bank, grabbed cash from the tills, then fled in a waiting white Audi A3.
The Audi, with a ’15’ number plate, sped off towards Botley, while the abandoned Vauxhall – believed to be stolen – was seized by police. Staff described the men as white and wearing balaclavas.
Staff Injured as Thieves Make Their Escape
One bank employee, a 31-year-old woman, was grabbed by her wrist during the raid, leaving her with minor bruising and understandably shaken.
Manhunt Underway for Masked Raiders
Detectives are hunting the trio, urging anyone with info to come forward. Police urge anyone who saw the incident or has information about the vehicles to call 101 quoting 44160121859. Alternatively, tip-offs can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
