Early Morning Stabbing Shakes Crawley
Police swooped in early Sunday after a deadly stabbing rocked an Arthur Road apartment block in Crawley. At around 5:30am on August 13th, emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a violent altercation.
Young Man Dead, Two Held for Murder
Despite frantic efforts by police and paramedics, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
Using drones and the National Police Air Service helicopter, officers launched an intensive manhunt that ended with the arrest of two suspects: a 22-year-old from London and a 23-year-old local. Both remain in custody facing murder charges.
Police: “Targeted Act, No Wider Threat”
“This incident appears to be a targeted act, and we believe there’s no imminent threat to the broader community. At this juncture, we aren’t pursuing any other individuals linked to this case,” said Detective Superintendent Andy Wolstenholme.
He added: “Residents may spot increased police presence nearby as the investigation continues. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
