Armed Police and Helicopter Scramble After Gun Sighting in Margate
Kent Police launched a dramatic armed operation in Margate on Wednesday evening after reports of a man carrying a gun.
Emergency Response in Clifton Gardens
Just after 8pm, two Authorised Firearms Officers were spotted patrolling Clifton Gardens, guns drawn, searching for the suspect.
A police helicopter from the National Air Support also joined the hunt, providing aerial assistance to ground officers.
Suspect Quickly Detained
A Kent Police spokesman confirmed officers were called at 8.12pm following reports of a man allegedly seen with a weapon:
“Officers attended and, with the assistance of the police helicopter, located a man who was arrested. Enquiries are ongoing.”
The swift response ensured the man was detained without incident. Investigations into the incident continue.
