Armed Standoff at Southall Fire Station Ends in Midnight Drama
A tense armed standoff unfolded last night at Southall Fire Station, where a man perched on the building’s flat roof refused to come down.
Man Stuck on Roof in Just Boxer Shorts
The drama began just after 10pm on Monday in the fire station’s rear drill yard on Uxbridge Road. The man, wearing only white boxer shorts, shouted at officers below. Riot shield teams and armed police surrounded the scene as specialist negotiators tried to coax him down.
Emergency Crews Rush to Scene
Ambulance crews, HART emergency units equipped with rope rescue gear, and an aerial ladder truck all scrambled to Southall. A police helicopter hovered overhead for around 40 minutes, monitoring the tense situation from above.
Negotiators Work to End Standoff
Contact was made between the man and police negotiators, who are still attempting to persuade him to surrender peacefully. The ordeal remains ongoing as officers coordinate their next move to resolve the standoff safely.
