Shocking Police Violence: Dad Taserd Multiple Times While Holding His Child at Petrol Station
Police officers unleashed a shocking level of violence on a father holding his young child at a petrol station. Disturbingly, a taser was the first weapon deployed against him.
Disturbing Video Shows Excessive Force
A bystander captured the horrifying footage, showing officers repeatedly tasering the man while his child looked on in terror. The level of force was described as “disgusting and appalling.” The video leaves viewers cringing as the child witnesses the brutal arrest.
“The last thing they did was protect this child’s mental well-being,” said the eyewitness.
It remains unclear what the man was accused of, but many are questioning if such brutal tactics were warranted. Police officers are supposed to protect, not traumatise families in public.
Man Charged After High-Speed Chase and Arrest
The suspect, identified as Desmond Ziggy Mombeyarara from Old Trafford, was charged following an incident on 6 May 2020.
- Two counts of resisting a constable
- One count of driving at excess speed
The drama unfolded after police spotted a vehicle speeding dangerously on Chester Road, Stretford. During the arrest, a Greater Manchester Police officer deployed a taser against Mombeyarara.
Independent Review Underway
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have referred the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for an independent review.
Superintendent Mark Kenny said:
“We are aware of public concern regarding this arrest and want to reassure the public that this matter is being reviewed and treated seriously. We have voluntarily referred this to the IOPC to ensure transparency.”
