Heartless Youths Snatch 20-Year-Old Dog in Broad Daylight
A desperate search is underway after a group of five youths brazenly stole a 20-year-old dog in New Addington, Croydon, on Monday, 14 April 2025.
Tilly, a fragile Jack Russell-Chihuahua cross, was taken from a green space near Oakbank and Field Way (CR0 0RU). The poor pooch is deaf, partially blind, and struggles to walk, making her vulnerable in the cold spell gripping the area.
Owner Pleads for Tilly’s Safe Return
Tilly’s elderly owner is heartbroken. Speaking out, he said:
“If they 1 her, she can’t see or hear or even walk much—and in this cold, she doesn’t stand a chance. I have her heart and seizure medications here too. Please, if 1 knows anything, help bring her home.”

Croydon police are on the case and reviewing CCTV footage. They have photographs of the five suspects and are urging anyone with info, sightings, or details to come forward.
