Brutal Attacks on Women Spark Police Hunt in Ayrshire
Detectives are urgently hunting witnesses after two women were seriously assaulted in Ayrshire within hours on the same night.
Violent Beating on Glasgow to Ayr Train
On Thursday 13 May, a woman was savagely attacked aboard the 8.30pm train from Glasgow Central to Ayr. A gang of four females reportedly beat her, targeting her face and head. They dragged her to the floor, kicking and punching repeatedly. The suspects fled at Kilwinning railway station. Several brave passengers rushed to the victim’s aid.
Second Assault at Ayr Station Same Night
Just hours later, at around 11.20pm, another woman was attacked by four women at Ayr railway station. She was hospitalised with serious injuries.
Police Plea for Witnesses
British Transport Police Detective Constable Martin Graham said: “We are urgently appealing for witnesses following these two awful incidents. Thankfully, these incidents are rare, and this type of behaviour will absolutely not be tolerated on the railway.”
“We currently are pursuing a positive line of enquiry for both these assaults, however we urge anyone who witnessed either incident or has any information to come forward.”
