Taxi Trickster Robs Man at Knife Point in Canterbury

Kent Police hunt shady fake cabbie who mugged an 18-year-old in the early hours of Friday, August 10. The robbery happened near St Gregory’s Road, close to North Holmes Road junction, Canterbury.

Victim Lured by Fake Taxi Driver

Detective Sergeant Heidi Collins revealed the shocking details: “The victim had been out with friends and was looking for a taxi home. In the St George’s Street/Canterbury Lane area, a man claiming to have a taxi approached him.”

Knife-Wielding Robber Demands Cash

The victim followed the suspect to St Gregory’s Road. There, the thief brandished a small knife and forced him to hand over his money before fleeing on foot towards the city centre.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

The offender is described as white, skinny, aged 16-20, around 6ft 1in tall, wearing dark trousers, shoes, and a dark hooded coat.

DS Collins pleaded, “We want anyone who saw this or recognises this lad to get in touch.”
