Tent Set Alight Near Toddlers’ Cove – Man Escapes Serious Injury

A man in his 40s was sleeping in a tent near Toddlers’ Cove park around 11pm on Sunday, 13 June 2021, when a terrifying attack unfolded.

Arsonist Targets Sleeping Victim

An unknown suspect doused the tent in an accelerant before setting it ablaze. The victim suffered burns to his hands but, luckily, did not need hospital treatment.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detective Sergeant Claire Munday of East Kent CID said: “Fortunately the victim suffered only minor injuries, but it is only by luck that this did not cause more serious harm.

She added, “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in or around the park at that time and saw anything that could help our investigation, or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.”
