Teens Targeted in Evening Assault at Woodlands Park

Phone Theft and Violence Shocks Local Teens

On the evening of 30 May 2021, around 7.30pm, a teenage boy and girl were sitting on a bench in Woodlands Park when two men suddenly approached them. One of the men grabbed the boy’s mobile phone before smashing the girl’s phone on the ground.

Assailants Attack and Flee the Scene

After the phone theft and vandalism, one of the men reportedly struck the boy around the back of the head. Both suspects then fled the scene. The boy’s damaged phone was later found on the pavement in nearby Portland Avenue.

Police Hunt Two Suspects: Description Released

  • Both suspects are black males, aged between 18 and 20.
  • One wore a bright red tracksuit with white stripes down the arms and a black cloth face mask.
  • The other wore a black tracksuit with the hood up, has plaited hair, and patchy facial hair.
