Two witnesses have come forward after police released CCTV footage in the shocking case of Julie Cook’s death following an alleged assault in Bournemouth.
Tragic Timeline Unfolds
Officers were called just before 1am on Tuesday 3 May 2016, after staff at Poole Hospital reported a woman with severe head injuries. Julie Cook, 44, was found injured at an address on Clarence Park Road in the Pokesdown area the evening before, shortly after 8pm on Monday 2 May.
Sadly, Julie died in hospital on Thursday 4 May 2016. Her family has been informed and the coroner notified.
Murder Probe Underway
Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team has launched a full murder inquiry. Investigations reveal Julie was seen travelling with a man on the London Waterloo to Weymouth train that afternoon.
At 3.37pm, the pair left the train together at Pokesdown railway station. Reports suggest an altercation broke out between them on the platform before they walked away from the station.
Police urge anyone with information to come forward and help piece together what happened. The investigation continues.
