Derbyshire Woman Arrested Over Terror Funding Released on Bail
Officers from the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command swooped on a Derbyshire address early yesterday morning, arresting a 35-year-old woman on suspicion of funding terrorist activities.
Pre-Dawn Raid in Derbyshire
At around 5:50am on 21 August, detectives from the National Financial Investigation Unit, part of the Counter Terrorism Command, struck. They arrested the woman on suspicion of involvement in arranging terrorism funding, a serious offence under section 17 of the Terrorism Act 2000. A search of the property was also conducted.
Detained and Bailed to Return
The suspect was taken to a London police station under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Following initial questioning, she was released on bail and must return to a London police station in mid-September as enquiries continue.
