Woman Assaulted After Dark in St Leonards – Police Hunt Witnesses

Sussex Police want help after a brutal assault on Bexhill Road, St Leonards, in the early hours of Sunday, November 10. The attack happened around 2:15 a.m. between Bulverhythe Road and Amsterdam Way, involving a female driver and a male pedestrian.

Driver Attacked Following Road Rage Incident

Police say a man threw an object at a dark-coloured car as it drove down Bexhill Road. The female driver stopped and confronted him. That’s when the suspect punched her, knocking her to the ground and leaving her with facial injuries.

The attacker then ran off towards the Harley Shute traffic lights. Sussex Police describe him as about 6 feet tall, with dark facial hair, wearing a black puffer jacket and carrying a black rucksack.

Police Urge Witnesses and Dash Cam Owners to Come Forward

Sussex Police stress that any witness accounts or footage—whether from dash cams, doorbell cameras, or CCTV—could be vital in catching the culprit. They urge anyone with information to report it online or call 101, quoting serial number 123 of 10/11.

“Any detail, however small, could help identify the suspect and piece together what happened,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.
