Isle of Wight Woman Busted for Assaulting Cop in Shanklin

A 33-year-old woman from the Isle of Wight is in hot water after attacking a police officer during a late-night incident in Shanklin. The drama unfolded at the Hideaway Restaurant on Sunday evening when officers were called out to deal with her rowdy behaviour.

Drunk and Disorderly

The woman, believed to be under the influence, was causing chaos—lashing out and being rude and antisocial to customers and staff. Despite repeated requests by the restaurant owner to leave, she refused, prompting the call to the police.

Now in Custody

Police say the woman assaulted an officer while they carried out their duty. She remains in custody at Newport Police Station, facing charges including assault on an emergency worker and public order offences.

Officers urge anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference 44180341585.
