Woman Dies in London Hit-and-Run After Police Chase
A woman was killed this afternoon in North West London after being hit by a car that fled the scene following a police pursuit. The tragic incident is now a suspected hit-and-run, with officers launching a full investigation.
Deadly Crash at Booth Road and Falcon Way
The fatal collision happened just before 3:10pm at the junction of Booth Road and Falcon Way, NW9. According to the Metropolitan Police, the car involved sped off from a police vehicle moments before striking the pedestrian.
Emergency Crews Rush to Scene but Victim Dies
Police officers on the scene immediately administered first aid to the woman before paramedics arrived. Despite efforts from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We were called at 3.08pm today (25 March) to reports of a road traffic collision on Grahame Park Way, NW9,” a London Ambulance Service spokesperson said.
“Multiple resources were sent, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, clinical team manager, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance. Sadly, despite their best efforts, the woman died at the scene.”
Driver Flees, Car Found Abandoned Nearby
The driver failed to stop after the crash. Police later found the car abandoned close to the scene and are currently hunting for the suspect or suspects. No arrests have been made yet.
A police cordon remains up and road closures are expected to continue into the evening as forensic detectives comb the area for clues.
“Shortly before 3:10pm on Tuesday, 25 March, a car collided with a female pedestrian at Booth Road, junction with Falcon Way, NW9,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed.
“The car had driven away from a police vehicle before the collision. Officers treated the woman but she sadly died at the scene. The car didn’t stop but was found abandoned shortly afterwards. Work to trace the occupants is ongoing. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.”
