Deliveroo customers across the UK experienced significant problems with the food delivery service’s app and website this afternoon (October 12). Users began reporting issues at around 11am, according to the website DownDetector.
Approximately 80% of the recorded problems were related to the app, while 18% were linked to the website and another 2% involved login difficulties. Major cities such as London, Birmingham, and Manchester were affected.
Many customers took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to ask about the status of their orders. Some users expressed frustration over orders placed before the outage, with one person tweeting: “@Deliveroo I ordered food before the app went down. The restaurant said the food had been made but no delivery. Am I going to receive a refund for this?”
Others reported issues accessing their accounts or tracking their orders, with one user saying, “Deliveroo app going down after I’ve ordered a nice chai tea latte is exactly what I need on a Saturday afternoon.
In response, Deliveroo posted an update on X: “We’re currently experiencing an issue with our app and website, we’re working hard to get back up and running ASAP. Thank you for your patience.”
As of now, it remains unclear when the issues will be resolved, but Deliveroo has acknowledged the problem and is working to fix it.
