Fire crews called to Portsmouth Hospital after smell of burning
Five fire appliances from Southsea,Cosham, Porchester and St Mary who have sent an aerial ladder platform have been called to the QA in Cosham this morning. Crews have been called after reports of the smell of burning within the air conditioning system. Crews were alerted just after 11.30am after an automatic fire alarm sounded at the hospital. There are no confirmed evacuations and fire crews are currently searching the hospital estate. Police have closed off the road into the hospital whilst the incident is being investigated by fire crews who have entered the main entrance wearing breathing apparatus carrying thermal imaging cameras.
