A suspect is to appear in court charged with stealing more than £2,000 worth of goods from Thanet shops

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Baslow earlier today.

Police were called to a residence on Wheatlands Lane shortly after 2pm following reports of a woman in her 50s being stabbed. The victim was swiftly transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are fortunately not believed to be life-threatening.

At around 5:20pm, officers from Cheshire Police intercepted a vehicle just outside Northwich and apprehended a man, also in his 50s, on suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect is currently in police custody pending further investigation.

Authorities have confirmed that the suspect and the victim are acquainted with each other, and there is no broader threat to public safety stemming from the incident.
