Despite intensive care treatment, the child was pronounced dead in hospital several days later.

School and Community Pay Tribute

UK News in Pictures understands that the boy was a pupil at Badbury Park Primary School. In a letter sent to parents on 17 June, the school said:

“Mrs Dance has had the sad task of informing the pupils of the death of a pupil in Willow Tree class.
He was a popular member of the school community and will be missed by everyone who knew him.”

Classmates and staff are being offered support as they come to terms with the tragic news.

Local authorities in Ibiza are reportedly treating the fall as a tragic accident. Spanish police have not yet released an official statement, and further details about the circumstances remain unclear.

The boy’s family is being supported by British consular officials, and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is aware of the incident.
