As the upcoming bank holiday approaches, many across the UK are wondering whether Royal Mail will continue delivering letters and parcels over the long weekend.
Just like supermarkets and other essential services, Royal Mail adjusts its schedule around public holidays. Whether you’re waiting on an important delivery or planning to send a parcel, here’s what you need to know about Royal Mail services this Easter and beyond.
Easter Bank Holiday Delivery Schedule
In England and Wales, the Easter bank holidays fall on:
- Good Friday – April 18
- Easter Monday – April 21
Royal Mail has confirmed there will be no deliveries or collections on either Good Friday or Easter Monday. These two dates are official public holidays, and postal services will pause across the country.
However, Saturday, April 19 will operate as normal, with standard letter and parcel deliveries going ahead. Sunday, April 20, is not a bank holiday, so parcel deliveries will also continue for services that operate on Sundays.
In Scotland, the schedule varies slightly. Good Friday is not a public holiday in all areas, so many Scottish households can expect normal deliveries and collections on April 18.
Easter Monday (April 21), however, is a bank holiday in Scotland, and Royal Mail will not collect or deliver post that day.
All services are expected to resume as normal on Tuesday, April 22 across England, Wales, and Scotland.
Remaining 2025 Bank Holidays in the UK

- Easter Monday – April 21
- Early May Bank Holiday – May 5
- Spring Bank Holiday – May 26
