Boat Capsizes at Roadford Lake – Two Missing, Two Hospitalised
Emergency services were scrambled to Roadford Lake in Lewdown, Okehampton, around 1.30pm today after a boat reportedly capsized with a large group on board.
Big Rescue Operation Underway
Police, fire crews, ambulance, air ambulance, coastguard, and search and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Paramedics checked three people pulled from the water, who were discharged on site.
Two other victims were airlifted to Derriford Hospital and are receiving treatment. Their conditions remain unknown.
Search Continues for Missing Passengers
Two passengers are still missing. Searches are ongoing as police secure the boat and investigate the incident. All passengers were adults, believed to be Devon locals.
Authorities have notified next-of-kin. Meanwhile, a road closure is in effect at the activity centre to aid emergency access.
