Man jailed after filming rape and uploading to social media
A prison sentence has been imposed on a man who filmed a teenage girl as she was engaged in a sexual act with a boy in Chatham.
Kristian Petik, 19, was jailed at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday 9 May 2019 after he pleaded guilty to one count of taking an indecent image of a child and three counts of distributing an indecent image of a child.
He took the image on 19 March 2018 and then shared it on social media between 19 and 25 March.
Petik of Chamberlain Road, Chatham, was jailed for a total of four years and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for six years.
Detective Constable Sanj Tanday of the Missing and Child Exploitation Team said: ‘Petik thought nothing of recording and sharing this incident via social media.
‘This led to his conviction and he should be thoroughly ashamed of his appalling behaviour.
‘I would like to commend the victim for her assistance during the investigation and I hope this verdict can offer her some closure now the person responsible for taking and sharing the image has faced justice.’
