Friends Step Up River Search for Missing Nurse Victoria Taylor

Friends of missing nurse Victoria Taylor are back on the hunt today. The 34-year-old bride-to-be vanished a week ago, and the determined group is zeroing in on the River Derwent riverbank, where divers have been searching for days. Searchers met at Malton station before setting off for the site.

Last Seen in Malton – CCTV Shows Her at Petrol Station

Victoria, a mother of one, was last seen at her home in Malton at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 2. CCTV later caught her at 11:35 a.m. at a BP garage on Welham Road, Norton, Malton. She wore a camouflage cap and black Adidas coat in the footage. Since then, her whereabouts remain a mystery, sparking a massive search effort involving family, friends, and police.

Belongings Found Along Riverbank

Police have recovered items linked to Victoria along the river, including her distinctive camouflage cap and a salmon pink Vans rucksack. Bottles of soft drinks, seen in the CCTV footage of her buying them, were found in a clearing near the riverside path by relatives.

Friend Charlotte Cundill pleaded with the public: “Mediums and psychics are not welcome on the page. We need facts and facts only right now.” Another friend, Helen Moran, cleared up rumours: “She has NOT got on a train or bus. The CCTV has been reviewed extensively.”

Massive Search Continues as Community Rallies

The search effort is in full swing, with drones, police officers in kayaks, and underwater teams scouring the River Derwent. CCTV from around the area is being reviewed, while family and friends painstakingly search the local area.

Victoria’s last confirmed sighting was near the Riverside Playground around noon on October 2. Earlier, she was at home with fiancé Matthew Williams and their two-year-old daughter. The couple visited Matthew’s parents, but Victoria left alone and never returned.

Unusual activity on Victoria’s Instagram since her disappearance has sparked questions about whether someone else has accessed her account, though her family have yet to comment.

The close-knit Malton community continues to support the search, sharing updates and offering help. As one friend said: “The majority of Malton and several other areas are searching for you. I’m praying and hoping each and every day to hear good news.”
