Chaos in the South as Torrential Rain Sparks Widespread Flooding
Heavy downpours have hammered parts of the South this evening, causing localised flooding and severe travel disruption. Motorists faced chaos after a major crash shut the A3090 Northbound.
Crash Closes Busy A3090
The A3090 Northbound was closed between Gardeners Lane and the A27/A3090 Pauncefoot Hill following a serious accident. Emergency services rushed to the scene after a vehicle flipped onto its side.
Firefighters Rescue Driver
Firefighters quickly extricated one casualty from the wreckage. The victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance. A spokesman for the South Coast Ambulance (SCA) confirmed the man was taken to General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Road Reopened Late Evening
Authorities kept the road closed for hours, finally reopening it around 10pm. Commuters are urged to check traffic updates as heavy rain and flooding continue to cause problems tonight.
