The A19 has been closed in both directions following a serious crash near Castle Eden, between the junctions with the Little Thorpe exit and the A181.
Emergency services, including police and ambulances, are currently at the scene, just past the Old Shotton turn-off. Authorities are working to manage the situation and attend to those involved in the incident.
A spokesperson from National Highways stated: “One lane is closed due to a crash on the A19 southbound after the A67 (Crathorne Junction). Traffic is coping well despite the closure.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Traffic delays are expected while authorities manage the incident and work to clear the road.
