Trio threaten Man with glass Bottle and rain down blows after attempted street Robbery in Southampton

Police are appealing for witnesses following an unprovoked assault on a man at a Southampton train station. The 21-year-old was trying to get a train on the Toys R Us side of Southampton Central train station when he was threatened by three strangers. The three men punched him and threatened him with a glass bottle, demanding his valuables. The victim was able to get away from his attackers uninjured. Nothing was stolen. The incident happened between midnight and 12.30am on July 15. Two of the attackers are described as being white, aged between 16 and 20-years-old, of skinny builds and with light brown hair. Detective Constable Marie Greer said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack where the victim was simply trying to catch a train home. “We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or who knows those responsible.” Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Greer on 101, quoting 44160263139, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
