A serious crash involving two vehicles on the A2 coastbound near Singlewell led to a major emergency response this morning.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) confirmed that three fire engines were dispatched to the scene following reports of the collision at 7:35 AM.
Rescue Operation
Firefighters used specialist hydraulic rescue equipment, including the Jaws of Life, hydraulic spreaders, rams, and cutting tools, to safely extricate one person from a vehicle. The individual was then handed over to paramedics for medical attention.
Traffic Disruptions
The incident contributed to significant delays and congestion along the A2 coastbound, adding to ongoing traffic issues caused by an earlier serious crash near Gravesend.
Emergency Services Statement
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:
“Crews worked efficiently to free the trapped individual and ensure they received the necessary medical care. We urge motorists to drive with caution in the area as traffic remains heavy.”
