Fire crews called to tackle blaze in Acton

Firefighters have been called to tackle a blaze in Acton this afternoon. Crews have been called to a flat fire on the fifth floor of a six storey block of flats. Large clouds of black arced smoke can been seen billowing from the property. It is unclear how the blaze started or if anyone has been injured as a result of the incident. Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have been called to the blaze at on Bromyard Avenue in Acton. Part of a five-roomed flat on the fifth floor of a six storey block is alight. The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers have taken 28 calls to the fire. The Brigade was called at just before 12pm Fire crews from Acton, Hammersmith, Chiswick, Ealing and surrounding fire stations are at the scene. More to follow
