Man dies after being hit on the M4 by an HGV
Officers from Thames Valley Police’s Serious Collisions Investigations Unit are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the M4 between junctions 5 and 6 westbound this morning at around 3.45am. A heavy goods vehicle was in collision with a pedestrian between the hard shoulder and lane one, and sadly, the pedestrian has subsequently died. The M4 remains closed at this time between junctions 5 and 6 while investigations continue. Anybody who witnessed the collision are asked to call 101, quoting URN 91 (19/11). The victim is yet to be identified and work is ongoing to do so and notify next of kin.
