The A3 in Surrey has been closed in the northbound direction between the B2215/A247 (Burntcommon) and the M25 J10 (Wisley) due to a multi-vehicle collision. Emergency services, including Surrey Police, are on the scene conducting collision investigation work.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes as the closure is expected to cause significant delays. A clearly signposted diversion route has been established to guide drivers around the affected area.
The diversion route is as follows:
- Exit the A3 northbound at the Burntcommon Interchange (A247).
- Join the A247 Clandon Road southbound and continue until the junction with the A246.
- Turn left and join the A246 (Epsom Road) and continue eastbound towards East Horsley and Great Bookham.
- Continue until the roundabout with the A24 and then A243.
- Join the M25 clockwise at J9 to continue the onward journey and rejoin the A3 northbound at J10.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, and if possible, consider re-routing or delaying their trips to avoid the congestion caused by the closure.
