Overseas Lorry driver charged over M20 Motorcycle death

A 31-year-old man has been charged with causing death by careless driving following a collision on the M20. Kent Police was called to the Londonbound carriageway, close to junction 8, at around 1.20pm on Sunday 22 September 2019, following a collision involving a white lorry and a black motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s and from Yorkshire, was pronounced deceased at the scene by ambulance crews. Mateusz Pietrow, of no fixed address was arrested the same day and charged on Monday 23 September 2019. He was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 24 September 2019. At the hearing, he was further remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 22 October 2019.
