Two people struck by a train near Holmes Chapel
A man has died after being struck by a train at Holmes Chapel railway station earlier today. British Transport officers were called to the station at 12.27pm to reports of two people having been struck by a train. A man and a woman were taken to hospital. Sadly, the man has passed away from his injuries. The woman remains in hospital with life-changing injuries. Their next of kin have been informed. The incident is currently being treated as unexplained and officers are working to establish the circumstances of what happened.
