Vile street robber attacked blind Pensioner in Southampton

A man in his 70s with impaired vision was robbed by a man on Howards Grove between 11.40am and 12pm on Tuesday 12 March. The man had been withdrawing money from Lloyd’s Bank in Shirley shortly before the attack happened. A person who saw the incident captured the moment he was attacked on their mobile phone. A man in dark clothing was seen to grab the man, punch him in the face and attempt to take the money out of his pockets. Fortunately the gentleman fought back and held onto his cash, but he suffered injuries to his face as a result of the incident. The man wearing dark clothing has been described as: White • Aged between 35 and 40-years-old • 5’ 10” • Proportionate build • Dark hair • Dark beard • Glasses Wearing: A dark jacket • Jeans • Trainers • Baseball cap – possible ‘Puma’ • Distinctive walk described as an ‘open’ gait We believe someone must know this man.
