Hero Call Handler Saves Man From Suicide in Early Morning Drama
Alise Ohohonina, pictured here off-duty with her dog Gamora, answered a life-or-death call just before 6am on 27 December 2021. A distressed man contacted her, saying he was in the act of harming himself.

Alise stayed on the line for a tense hour, talking the man down until officers reached him. Thanks to her quick thinking, he was handed over safely to medical professionals.
