Unlicensed Rave Shut Down After Ignoring Covid Rules
A dangerous unlicensed music event was smashed last weekend, after blatantly breaking Coronavirus regulations. The organiser now faces a £10,000 fine.
150 Crammed Into Derelict Pub for All-Night Party
Just after 9.30am on Sunday, 4 October, Met officers raced to Wythes Road, E16 following complaints from locals about violent and anti-social behaviour.
Officers found more than 150 revellers packed into a filthy, unsafe hall inside a derelict pub. Thumping music and DJ equipment were set up in one corner.
Shocking Safety Breach and Squalor Caught on Camera
Bodycam footage shows officers walking into the disaster zone, stunned by the blatant breach of Covid rules designed to protect lives.
Sergeant Simon Biggs slammed the event organiser’s reckless behaviour: “When I arrived, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. This health crisis has claimed thousands of lives and events like this risk spreading the deadly virus even further.”
Conditions inside were horrendous – no running water, filthy toilets, zero social distancing, and most guests without face masks.
The building was falling apart with water dripping from the ceiling and numerous hazards putting lives at risk.
Officers dispersed the crowd, identified the 30-year-old event organiser, and secured the building to stop further access.
