Armed Police and National air support helicopter deployed to Bembridge on the Isle of Wight

An asset from the national air support and armed Police from Hampshire and Isle of Wight have been deployed to Bembridge Village on the Isle of Wight this evening. It is understood that officers are dealing with an isolated incident near to the crab and lobster pub. Air assets were sent to the Island from NPAS Bournemouth just before 9pm on Saturday evening. Officers along with a dog and two police vans have have attended Howgate/ Egerton Road and a further address in Beachfield Road following an incident at the Welcome Cooperative convenience store in Lane End. A staff member at the store confirmed that they had been an incident within the store and the store manager is not working with officers from Hampshire Police. The staff member refused to go into great details apart from confirming an incident had taken place. It is further be revealed that armed officer from the armed response officers from the main land also attended to support officers from the Isle of Wight. Hampshire Police have been contacted for a full statement on the evening events. More to follow shortly
