Gatwick Hikes Drop-Off Charge to £6

Gatwick Airport has bumped up its minimum drop-off fee from £5 to £6 as of January 5, 2024. The move aims to slash congestion and push travellers towards greener transport. The airport wants 60% of trips to and from Gatwick to be made by “zero or ultra-low emissions” vehicles by 2030.

How Much Will You Pay to Drop Off?

Drivers face a £6 charge for the first 10 minutes in either North or South Terminal drop-off zones. After that, it’s £1 for every additional minute. The max wait time is 30 minutes, which could rake up a hefty £25 fee.

Skip the Fees with Long-Stay Car Parks

Fancy dodging the charges? Use Gatwick’s long-stay car parks instead. You get two hours free parking plus a complimentary shuttle bus to the terminals. Bonus!

Don’t Forget to Pay Up or Face a Fine

Miss your payment by midnight the day after dropping off, and you’re looking at a £100 fine. Pay within 14 days, and the fine drops to £60. Best not to risk it!
